Biography

Moses Jn Baptiste represents Vieux Fort North constituency in the House of Assembly for the Saint Lucia Labour Party. He is currently serving as Minister for Health, Wellness and Elderly Affairs.

Early life and education

Jn Baptiste was educated at St.Lucia Teacher’s College (1984-1986); Folk Research Centre (1984-mid 1990s); and the College of Agriculture, Jamaica (1991-1993). He holds a BSc in Agriculture from the University of the West Indies, St Augustine, Trinidad and Tobago (1997-1999).

Career

Jn Baptiste was the Principal of Vieux-Fort Primary School from 2001 to 2005. He was an Executive member of St.Lucia Teacher’s Union (1984-1986), and Branch President of St.Lucia Teacher’s Union (1986-2005).

He was a member of the Board of Directors, Poverty Reduction Fund, St.Lucia (2003-2005). He also served as a member of the Board of Directors, Southern Development Corporation, Vieux-Fort, St.Lucia (2005)

Jn Baptiste has been the Parliamentary Representative for Vieux Fort North for the Saint Lucia Labour Party (SLP) since 2006. He was Minister for Social Transformation, Local Government and Community Empowerment in the 2011-2016 Kenny Anthony Administration.
