Biography

Honourable Emma Hippolyte represents the constituency of Soufriere for the Saint Lucia Labour Party in the House of Assembly of Saint Lucia. She is currently serving as Minister for Commerce, Manufacturing, Business Development, Cooperatives and Consumer Affairs.

Early life and education

Ms Hippolyte studied Secretarial Science at the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College. She later obtained her professional accounting certification in Canada and a Fraud certification in the USA.

Career

She accumulated over 30 years of service in Senior Management positions in the Public and Private sectors, nationally and internationally, in the areas of Government, NGOs, internal and external auditing, management, banking, finance, and social security. Emma served as a Government Senator, 2007 to 2011 and a Minister and Parliamentary Representative for Gros Islet 2011 – 2016.
